The Waltham Watch Company, originally founded in 1850 in Roxbury, Massachusetts, was a true pioneer of American horology. Established by David Davis, Aaron Dennison, and Edward Howard, Waltham introduced the revolutionary concept of interchangeable watch parts, making high-quality timepieces more accessible while setting new standards of precision and consistency. Waltham’s legacy includes iconic models such as the P.S. Bartlett, Appleton Tracy & Co., and Vanguard, highly regarded for their accuracy and craftsmanship. Even Abraham Lincoln is known to have owned a Waltham “Wm. Ellery” watch during the Civil War, underscoring the brand’s historical importance.
