Watch Overview
Discover the TAG Heuer Mercedes-Benz SLR Chronograph CAG2110 â a limited edition menâs timepiece produced in 3,500 pieces. Designed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, this model reflects TAG Heuerâs deep ties to motorsport and is often associated with the iconic 1955 300 SLR, famously driven by Stirling Moss. Its design also echoes the early 2000s SLR McLaren grand tourers, making it a sought-after piece among automotive and watch collectors alike.
The 45mm stainless steel case features a fixed tachymeter bezel and an internal rotating bezel controlled by a secondary crown at 9 oâclock. The black dial includes luminous markers, chronograph subdials (30-min at 9, 12-hour at 6, running seconds at 3), and a date window at 7 oâclock. Powered by the automatic Calibre 17 (ETA 2894-2 base), it offers a 42-hour power reserve, 28,800 vph frequency, and chronograph functionality protected by a sapphire crystal. Water resistance is rated to 100 meters.
This example is paired with its original black leather strap and signed folding clasp. Fully inspected and authenticated by our watchmaker, itâs in good condition with visible wear, strong case lines, and fully functioning movement â a collector-grade chronograph with automotive DNA and proven mechanical integrity.

History & Legacy of Tag Heuer
Founded in 1860 in SaintâImier, Switzerland by Edouard Heuer, TAG Heuer has built its reputation on family leadership and technical innovation. Early milestones include the 1869 patent for a crownâoperated, keyless winding system and, in 1887, the invention of the oscillating pinion, which enabled chronographs to start and stop instantly via a pushâbutton. As the 20th century progressed, Heuer adapted to rising demands for precision in sports, transportation, medicine, and industry. Highlights from this era include the 1911 âTime of Tripâ dashboard instrument for automobiles and aircraft, and in 1916 the Mikrograph and Microsplit stopwatches, which raised the standard for stopwatch accuracy. Throughout the 1930s to the 1950s Heuer expanded its offering of wrist chronographs and dashboard timers, introducing models like the Autavia, the Solunar (which tracked moon phases and tides), and the RingâMaster stopwatch with interchangeable timing rings. In later decades, Heuer entered what many consider the golden age of motorsportâinspired chronographs under Jack Heuer, releasing iconic models such as the Carrera and Monaco (which gained fame in the late 1960s). After becoming TAG Heuer in 1985, the company was acquired by LVMH in 1999, and continued pushing boundaries: in 2004 with the Monaco V4 concept, in 2010 with its inâhouse Calibre 1887 chronograph movement, and in 2015 with the debut of its first Swiss luxury smartwatch, the TAG Heuer Connected. Most recently, in 2019, TAG Heuer celebrated 50 years of the Monaco line with a series of limited editions.
