SUPER RARE Vintage Mido Multifort Datometer Roulette Dial Super Automatic Watch

Watch Overview

The Mido Multifort Datometer from the 1940s is an uncommon variation within the Multifort line, distinguished by its pointer-date function. While most early Multifort models were time-only automatics, the Datometer added a central date hand—making this configuration particularly rare and sought after among collectors of early Mido pieces.

This vintage example is powered by the Mido Caliber 917B, a 17-jewel bumper automatic movement operating at 18,000 vph with a 41-hour power reserve. The movement includes a sweep-seconds hand, antimagnetic protection, shock resistance, and the characteristic “Super-Automatic” bumper system used by Mido during this period.

The black dial shows even aging and features gold-tone Arabic numerals, matching hands, and a sweep-seconds hand. The date pointer—finished in black with a red tip—indicates the date along an outer roulette-style scale printed in alternating red and black numerals. This layout provides both functionality and the distinctive visual style associated with early pointer-date watches.

The 34 mm stainless-steel case is fitted with a smooth fixed bezel, acrylic crystal, pull-push crown. Paired with a new black leather strap, the watch remains in good vintage condition with honest wear. Fully inspected and authenticated, it runs accurately and is ready to wear.
