Inspired by the original 1944 military-issued A-15 “Elapsed Time Watch,” the Bulova A-15 Pilot, model 96A245, reimagines this historic design for modern collectors. Released in January 2020, it remains faithful to its aviation roots while offering the reliability of contemporary engineering.

 

This is a 3-hand automatic wristwatch powered by the Miyota (Citizen) caliber 82S6. The self-winding movement features 21 jewels, hacking seconds, a sweep second hand, dual-time display, 12/24-hour readout, 21,600 bph frequency, and a 42-hour power reserve. No battery is needed, as the rotor winds the mainspring through wrist motion.

 

The black dial features bold white Arabic numerals, a yellow 24-hour scale, and luminous hands and markers for high visibility. Two inner rotating discs track elapsed hours and minutes, operated by the crown at 2 o’clock. The 4 o’clock crown adjusts a second time zone, adding function to form.

 

The 42mm stainless steel case includes a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and is water resistant up to 30 meters (3 ATM). The case is complemented by a brown leather strap with a 3-piece buckle closure.
