BULOVA Breton Automatic Watch
Joseph Bulova Limited Edition
Model: 96B332
The Joseph Bulova collection pays homage to the Bulova’s founder as well as its Swiss watchmaking history.
In 1875, a Bohemian immigrant, Joseph Bulova founded the Bulova brand in New York City. In 1912, Bulova established the first manufacturing plant committed to the total production of wristwatch components in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. This plant was in operation until 1985.
From the Joseph Bulova collection with a boldly designed and rectangular case, this watch is inspired by the 1928 Bulova Breton. This unique timepiece is the Bulova Brenton automatic wristwatch, model 96B332, released in November 2019 and limited-edition to 350 pieces total.
The Bulova Brenton pays homage to the brand’s visionary founder. These limited-edition automatic watches are designed in New York City and crafted in Switzerland, using fine Swiss movements.
This is a 3-hand self-winding watch powered by a Swiss made automatic movement caliber SW200, 26 jewels, quickset date indicator, sweep second hand, hacking mechanism, 38-hour power reserve. The Sellita caliber SW200 is the main competitor to ETA’s 2824 workhorse movement.
Powered by the release of a wound spring, mechanical movements never require a battery. Automatic mechanical movements have an oscillating weight that winds the spring with the motion of the wearer’s arm.
“In a world that’s increasingly digital, there’s a real appeal to something that relies on gears, springs, and jewels to work, and that’s reflected in the growing interest in mechanical watches today.”
The distinctive designs in the Joseph Bulova collection are inspired by Bulova designs from the Art Deco era of the 1920’s to the 1940’s. Each of the designs feature signature elements true to the vintage Bulova watches of the time - interpreted with an eye for the contemporary consumer.
Black vertical brushed dial and painted Arabic Numerals markers, white “railroad” minute/second track and silver matching sword hands. The date window is located at 3 o’clock position. The dial is signed the Bulova name/logo and “1875 Automatic”.
Boldly designed, it is cased in a 32x37mm tank case, all in stainless steel. Open case back (display back) showcasing the fine Swiss made automatic movement, also featuring the Joseph Bulova signature, “1875” and “###/350”. Double curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. 30M water resistant.
It comes on a brown leather lizard grain strap with the “Joseph Bulova” signature on the interior lining and a deployant closure with pushers. This special limited edition is delivered in special packaging including a limited-edition card.
