Bulova’s Aerojet line brings a modern touch to a classic design inspired by vintage timepieces. This is the Aerojet Classic Automatic wristwatch, reference 96B374, released in 2021.

 

It’s a 4-hand self-winding watch powered by the reliable Miyota (Citizen) caliber 8217 automatic movement. It features a smooth sweep second hand, 21 jewels, a 12/24-hr dial with a bi-color day/night indicator, date window, hacking seconds, a 21,600 bph frequency, and a 40-hour power reserve.

 

As a mechanical watch, it runs without a battery, powered by a wound mainspring and an oscillating rotor that winds with wrist movement. This blend of traditional engineering and daily wearability is what makes automatic watches so appealing today.

The impressive sunray blue dial includes gold-tone accents, white minute/second track, luminous hands and a bi-color day/night indicator at 9 o’clock. The signature cross-hair detail is enhanced with an ombre effect radiating from a pale color at the center to a rich dark blue at the edges. The date indicator is at 3 o’clock position. The vintage Aerojet logo adds an authentic retro feel to the timepiece. 

 

Cased in a 41mm stainless steel round case with a double-curved box mineral crystal, the watch also features a clear case back (exhibition/display case back) to view the automatic movement. The signed crown bears Bulova’s classic Accutron logo. Water resistance is rated up to 30M (3 ATM).

 

The look is enhanced with a supple black leather strap for a rich elegance that will stand out.
