Today we’re pleased to present one of Rolex’s most iconic models: a vintage Ladies Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust, reference 69173, with serial number 8265422—dating this piece from 1984.

 

This self-winding watch is powered by the in-house Rolex caliber 2135 automatic movement, featuring 29 jewels, smooth sweeping second hand, a date indicator with quickset function, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and a reliable 42-hour power reserve. Swiss made. As expected from Rolex, the caliber 2135 is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. 

 

The original malachite dial adds a distinctive and refined touch, beautifully complementing the 3 o’clock date window. The dial is signed with the Rolex crown and logo, along with “Oyster Perpetual Datejust” and “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified.”

 

The watch is housed in a 26mm two-tone stainless-steel case, paired with the elegant yellow gold tone fluted bezel and features Rolex’s signature waterproof screw-down crown. The crystal is equipped with the iconic Cyclops lens for date magnification.

 

It is paired with a Rolex Oyster stainless-steel bracelet—reference 78340—with its signature three-piece links. It fits wrists up to 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm) and is one of the most recognizable and enduring bracelet styles in the Rolex lineup.
