Vuillemin, a French watchmaker. The "Sochaux" designation likely refers to the town in France where Vuillemin was based.
1970s VUILLEMIN Sochaux
Chronograph Wristwatch
by Croton Watch Co.
Valjoux 7733
This is a classic vintage chronograph wristwatch from Vuillemin Sochaux, dating back to the early 1970s.
It features a manual-wind mechanical movement with 17 jewels, signed “Croton Watch Co.” and powered by the reliable Valjoux 7733 caliber. The chronograph includes a central 60-second stopwatch hand and a 30-minute counter, along with a small running seconds subdial. The movement offers a 45-hour power reserve and runs at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour. Swiss-made quality.
The dial has a sharp Panda-style design with a silver background and bold black subdials. A blue inner tachymeter scale circles the edge, used for measuring speed over a known distance. The small seconds subdial is at 9 o’clock, and the 30-minute counter is at 3 o’clock. Silver baton hour markers with luminous fill, a black minute track, and luminous silver hands complement the layout. The standout orange chronograph second hand adds a pop of color and style. The dial is signed “VUILLEMIN Sochaux” at the top.
The watch is housed in a 36.2mm stainless steel round case with a classic lug design. It is antimagnetic and shock-protected, built for both function and vintage appeal.
It comes paired with a green genuine leather two-piece strap that adds a touch of personality to the overall look.
In good condition overall, this piece runs well, keeps accurate time, and is a great example of vintage Swiss watchmaking.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have concerning size.
We prefer to take photographs outdoors when the weather allows. However, when shooting indoors, please note that we use lightboxes equipped with 360 LED bulbs, which can magnify any flaws that may be less noticeable to the naked eye. That said, we never use Photoshop to alter our images or remove blemishes. While we may adjust the lighting as needed, what you see is what you get, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned.
The item may show some signs of cosmetic wear, but it is fully operational, and functions as intended.
Please take a moment to review the photos, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.
The item will be carefully packed for shipment.
