Watch Overview
Offered here is an exceptionally elegant and highly collectible timepiece: a vintage Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Ultra-Thin, reference 6338, crafted in solid 18K yellow gold and dating to circa 1960 based on its serial number.
At the heart of this watch is the legendary Vacheron Constantin Caliber 1003 — one of the most celebrated ultra-thin movements in horological history. Measuring just 9 lignes (21.05 mm) in diameter and an astonishing 1.64 mm in thickness, it was introduced as one of the world’s thinnest mechanical hand-wound movements. Composed of approximately 120 components, this extraordinary caliber became a benchmark in ultra-thin watchmaking and was used to power some of the thinnest wristwatches ever produced during its era. Even today, the Caliber 1003 remains one of the most important and respected ultra-flat movements ever created.
This manually wound movement features 17 jewels, operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour, and offers approximately 31 hours of power reserve. It was adjusted for precision timekeeping in multiple positions, temperature, and isochronism — reflecting the high standards of Geneva watchmaking during the period.
The watch is fitted with a refined white dial accented by applied gold/black stick hour markers and matching gold hands, embodying the understated elegance for which the Patrimony line is known. The slim 33mm round case, crafted in solid 18K yellow gold, measures approximately 4mm in thickness, giving the watch its distinctive ultra-flat profile. It is paired with a black leather two-piece strap, completing its timeless dress look.
Fully inspected and authenticated by our in-house watchmaker, this timepiece is running accurately and is ready to be worn and appreciated.
