1950 LONGINES
Hourglass Case
Mechanical Wristwatch
14K Yellow Gold
This is a truly elegant timepiece: a vintage Longines Hourglass mechanical wristwatch from 1950. The “Hourglass” shape became popular in the late 1940s and was known for its smooth lines and balanced design. As styles shifted in the 1950s, watches became more angular and bolder, but this model reflects the graceful style of its earlier years.
It runs on a manual-wind Longines movement, caliber 9LT. This original mechanical movement has 17 jewels, an unadjusted mechanism, a small second hand, a 43-hour power reserve, and ticks at 18,000 vibrations per hour. Swiss-made and built to last.
The watch still has its original champagne dial, showing light signs of aging and a nice patina. The dial includes gold markers and matching gold hands, with a small second subdial at 6 o’clock. The Longines name and logo appear at the top of the dial, keeping the look clean and classic.
It comes in a 22x29mm hourglass-shaped case with fancy lugs, made from 14K yellow gold.
The watch is fitted with a brand new brown genuine leather two-piece strap from Hadley Roma.
In good condition overall, this piece runs well, keeps accurate time, and is a great example of vintage Swiss watchmaking.
Thank you for considering this timepiece. Feel free to reach out with any questions or respectful offers!

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have concerning size.
We prefer to take photographs outdoors when the weather allows. However, when shooting indoors, please note that we use lightboxes equipped with 360 LED bulbs, which can magnify any flaws that may be less noticeable to the naked eye. That said, we never use Photoshop to alter our images or remove blemishes. While we may adjust the lighting as needed, what you see is what you get, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned.
The item may show some signs of cosmetic wear, but it is fully operational, and functions as intended.
Please take a moment to review the photos, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.
The item will be carefully packed for shipment.
