Watch Overview
Offered here today is an interesting and collectible timepiece: a vintage Omega Jumbo mechanical wristwatch, reference 2338/2, dated to 1944 based on the movement serial number.
It is a manual-wind watch powered by the original Omega Watch Co. mechanical movement, caliber Omega 30T2, featuring 15 jewels with a small seconds hand and made in Switzerland. It operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour and offers an approximate power reserve of 44 hours. The renowned 30T2 caliber became one of Omegaâs most respected movements of the 1940s, valued for its durability, accuracy, and use in many civilian and military-style watches of the era.
The watch retains its beige dial, which has developed an attractive vintage patina over time. It is accented by Arabic numerals, hour markers, a black minute track, and matching hands. The sub-second hand is located at 6 oclock position.
Measuring approximately 35 mm in diameter, the case was considered âjumboâ for its time and remains very wearable by modern standards. The watch is housed in a stainless steel round case and is fitted with a dark brown two-piece leather strap. Fully inspected and authenticated, it remains in good vintage condition consistent with age and use, and is ready to wear and enjoy.
