Hamilton - Masterpiece
The Hamilton Masterpiece is a line of watches that were typically given as awards or service recognition during the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. These watches were marketed primarily to companies, which would use them for presentation purposes, often engraving them to commemorate significant moments.
This line was particularly attractive to corporate buyers who wanted a special customization options. Hamilton used a photo-etching technique that allowed for precise reproduction of text and intricate corporate logos —something not commonly offered by other watchmakers at the time. Each Masterpiece watch was hallmarked on the dial, and custom dial art printing was also available making the timepiece a very personalized gift.
Offered here is an elegant Hamilton Masterpiece Award wristwatch, dated to 1943. Crafted in solid 14K gold, this timepiece remains all original and is accompanied by its original inner and outer presentation boxes. This watch was awarded in recognition of service to the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors Corporation.
This is a manual-wind wristwatch powered by a mechanical movement and fitted with a small seconds display. The sunburst champagne dial features applied gold-tone Arabic numerals, complementary hour markers, and matching gold-tone hands. The small seconds sub-dial is positioned at 6 o’clock.
It is housed in a 29mm round 14K yellow gold case with elegant, flowing lugs and retains its original signed crown. It is fitted with its original Hamilton genuine leather two-piece strap. The watch is in good vintage condition, it is ready to wear and enjoy.
