IMPERIAL WATCH Co.

The company followed the Swiss tradition introduced by Daniel Jeanrichard in 1681. During the freezing Swiss winters, out-of-work farmers would supplement their income by watch parts and selling them to watchmakers to assemble. Imperial was one of the last such assembly houses and even though the company name is still in use today, it's unclear how many times it has changed ownership. The imperial watch Co. still makes and ships watches today, but not the same as in 1940.

"The Imperial Watch Company was formed at La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland in 1875, and they exported Swiss watches in the 1920's through importer Bayer, Pretzfelder & Mills. Many watches of this era were marked both Buren Watch Company and Imperial on the plates. An associated company Louis Goering registered the name Imperial in 1890. On March 1, 1966 Hamilton Watch Company USA acquired Buren Watch Company, Switzerland."

This BEAUTIFUL timepiece is a NEW OLD STOCK IMPERIAL watch dated from 1941. It is a manual wind wristwatch with an original Imperial Watch Co. movement caliber 1046, model 144, 17 jewels, Swiss made.

It is cased in 28.8x28.6mm in an engraved barrel shape case and lugs design. The case back is stainless steel.

It still has the original an STUNNING beige dial with gold Arabic Numerals and gold matching hands. It has the black enamel outer track lines the outside of the dial with a seconds track in the sub-dial. The sub-second is located at 6 and the dial is signed with the "IMPERIAL" name on top.

The watch is coming with the original brown leather two-piece strap and retail presentation case.

This manual wristwatch is in LOVELY condition! Running very well and keeping good time.
