The Story
Watch Overview
This beautiful timepiece is a vintage Waltham pocket watch, dating from 1924, a well-preserved example of early 20th-century American watchmaking. It features an elegant 44mm round open-face case with engraved details along the bezel and bow, giving it the geometric style commonly seen in designs from the 1920s.
The watch is powered by Walthamâs Grade No. 1225 manual-winding movement, Model 1924 Col.b, featuring 17 jewels, sice 12s and small seconds. Made in United States.
The silver-tone dial shows light aging and retains its original decorative finish. It features stylized Arabic numerals with a matching sub-seconds register at 6 oâclock, and blued steel hands. The layout is balanced and easy to read.
This vintage Waltham pocket watch remains in very good condition with light, honest signs of age. Fully authenticated and ready to enjoy or add to a collection.

History & Legacy of Waltham
The Waltham Watch Company, originally founded in 1850 in Roxbury, Massachusetts, was a true pioneer of American horology. Established by David Davis, Aaron Dennison, and Edward Howard, Waltham introduced the revolutionary concept of interchangeable watch parts, making high-quality timepieces more accessible while setting new standards of precision and consistency. Through innovation and determination, the company became one of the most respected watchmakers of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Walthamâs legacy includes iconic models such as the P.S. Bartlett, Appleton Tracy & Co., and Vanguard, highly regarded for their accuracy and craftsmanship. Even Abraham Lincoln is known to have owned a Waltham âWm. Elleryâ watch during the Civil War, underscoring the brandâs historical importance. Although production ceased in 1957, Waltham watches remain celebrated by collectors worldwide as symbols of American ingenuity and a milestone in industrial watchmaking.
